Talking pattern -Yikyin Yi

This painting was inspired by the city lights in the fog. The lights took on these cool, defined shapes, so I just had to capture that vibe and add my own artistic twist.

The inspiration I gained while eating I noticed that the combination of spaghetti and onion rings has a very interesting shape. So I expressed it using an abstract approach.

While I was washing my hands, I observed the process of water creating ripples. I then expressed this dynamic action through painting.

There is a broken wall downstairs in my house. The steel bars are exposed inside. I used red lines to represent it and painted the wall with watercolors.

Just like the previous picture, I used different techniques to depict that wall. I employed polka dots and distorted lines to convey the danger of the wall.

This is the fallen petals I observed on a rainy day. I used a large number of blue dots to represent the rain.

Because I have myopia, when I look at the light source, the light will spread out. I get inspiration and then draw the light in my mind.

This is a red wall in the rain. The raindrops on the wall create many red dots.

This is what I have observed – different forms of the sun have different colors at different times.

When I went to a lake, it was just at sunset. The sunlight fell on the ripples and created such shapes.
I really enjoy documenting the objects in my daily life through painting. I don’t like uniform shapes. I prefer to add my personal insights, exaggerate or weaken them, and at the same time, I pay more attention to the expression of colors. However, I think I’m a bit lacking in the expression of patterns, especially in the aspect of depicting their outlines. I believe I need more practice in patterns and enhance my creativity in patterns.
